Are You Blessing the Lord in Your Trial? Worship Devotional

Song of the Day

“Blessed Be Your Name” by Matt Redman

Scripture to reflect upon

Devotional thought

So many of us in today’s world are afraid of trials and pain. I fear that many of us battling the same trials that Job endured, would have turned our hearts away from God and become bitter towards Him. He was told by his own wife to lose the attempt to hold on to his integrity and curse God! What a temptation that was, but Job responded with a wonderful statement:

Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?”

Job 2:10

And by saying this, Job remained righteous and had not fallen into sin.

In general, we have lost the ability to remain strong in our faith and dedication to God in the midst of trials. As we declare the words of this song today, we are encouraged to Bless the Name of God no matter if we are in pain and sorrow or in times of joy and celebration – Blessed Be the Name of The Lord!

I know that we all face various seasons in our lives, some better and some worse, but I really believe that worshiping through the seasonal changes keeps us centered on the things that really matter! Whether the Lord gives, or takes away, is your heart resolved to praise His Name?

Hebrews tells us to keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus, and to the level that we can do that, regardless of our situations, will be to the level that we will experience stability in our lives. Our worship needs to remain constant throughout the storms, throughout the pain, throughout everything we endure, because it reminds us that God is good and faithful no matter what we are going through.

Stories like Job should remind us of such Truths, and increase our ability to rely upon our God to be with us in all things! His Name is worthy to be blessed by our mouths! So, let’s never stop blessing the Name of the Lord.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father. I bless Your name even now God! Bless the Lord, oh my soul, I bless Your holy Name! I confess that I battle weakness through times of trial. I have at times even lost my integrity Lord, and I ask Your forgiveness now. Please help me to never lose my faith in Your sovereignty, and to keep my praises rising up to Your throne. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
