Devotional thought

Where would we be without the awesome grace of God? All of His blessings and promises are ours in Christ and by His grace! This grace is responsible for the complete transformation that takes place in our hearts when we come to God by faith.

Titus 2 reminds us that it is this grace that has appeared to all mankind that teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. It is our teacher to embrace righteousness, godliness, and on how to live self-controlled lives! It isn’t the wrath, the fury, the anger of mankind, or God, that teaches us these things. It is His grace and kindness that is the greatest instrument for training!

So, what are you relying on to train you? Have you seen the effects of grace in your life, either by God or by people? Has it been your teacher to help you deny things that are ungodly and to embrace the righteous lifestyle Christ purchased for you by His own blood?

There is absolutely nothing else that is sufficient to adequately provide correction, direction, healing, strength, transformation, and overall blessing in your life! God’s grace should be the thing we rely upon to provide all we need. It is freely given as a gift to all who come to God by faith. It is not something that is worked for, earned, gained through effort. No, God’s grace is unmerited favor granted to imperfect and weak people who know they are in desperate need of a Savior! Is that you today?

Prayer

God of grace. I love You and thank You for extending Your grace to me! I do not deserve it, yet You lavish it upon me as if I actually do! Your kindness toward me compels me to reject ungodliness and to choose to live a righteous life. Help me to remain in Your grace at all times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
