“Cornerstone” by Hillsong Live

Scripture to reflect upon

Devotional thought

“When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace…through the storm He is Lord of all.” As you encounter the love, and hope, of Christ today, I pray that you will be able to feel that refreshing peace that come when we rest in Him!

To trust that He is sovereign in our situations is to put our hope in God. Resisting fear through faith, and leaning into the promises that the Scriptures offer us is what hope looks like. We all need to learn to offer up our cries for help whenever we are tempted to give up. So, let’s resist the urge to trust the counterfeit “saviors” out there when we get overburdened with all of life’s demands! Jesus is our only hope!

The cornerstone of a building is the fixed point that everything else has to be built from. It is part of the foundation of a structure, acting as an anchor, and is critical to a building project. Having the cornerstone in the wrong place will throw off the entire project! Making Jesus the cornerstone in your life is just as significant!

The integrity of our spiritual house will end up being compromised if Christ is not used as the reference point, or when we build off of any other foundation than Him! Resulting in our spiritual house crumbling down when the forces of evil come against it (notice I said when, not if!).

Don’t wait for the troubles of life to come; shore up the hope of your heart now! You can begin strengthening your foundation today by:

  • praying,
  • reading the Word of God,
  • living your life in a righteous way.

If we want to be successful in building up our spiritual frames; we need to practice referencing the Cornerstone throughout the day, and becoming very familiar with the blueprint (Bible) God has given us!

Prayer

My Lord and God, I love You and thank You for giving me a solid Rock to stand upon in Christ! Praise You Jesus for being my Chief Cornerstone, and I look to You for guidance today. I desire to build up and strengthen my spiritual frame in You Lord. I put my hope in You and ask that You will help me daily to reference Your Word for guidance in this life! Thank You Jesus, in Your name. Amen
