“God So Loved”, by We the Kingdom

Devotional thought

For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (NET 2nd ed.)

God loved by giving! He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, as the sacrifice (propitiation) that would please Him forever and provide forgiveness to any and all that will receive it! God so loved the world, and God so loved you.

Now, just like any other gift, it is up to the recipient to receive it and use it in their lives, right?

But to all who have received him—those who believe in his name—he has given the right to become God’s children

John 1:12 (NET 2nd ed.)

The Bible says that to all who will believe in the One and only Son will never perish but have eternal life. Those who believe and receive become recipients of eternal life and become grafted into the family of God forever!

We are not left orphaned! God shows us love and adopts us into His forever family!! O’ what love indeed.

Have you forgotten that as Gods’s special possession, as one who has accepted the invitation to experience the love of God, that He is shouting for joy over you? He takes great delight in you! It is in His loving kindness that He has delivered you from hell and given you eternal life and love in Him!

God’s love has the power to transform and renew our heart! O’ how we need a fresh taste of that love that revives our spirit in Him. There is nothing like it to give us hope, joy, peace, and so on!

May our faith be ever increasing as we look to the Mighty Warrior who is in our midst and fighting our battles. Our Commander loves us, and He demonstrated that love on the Cross where He died in our place and pleased the Heavenly Father’s righteous requirement for all sin to be punished! Jesus Christ did that for us. Hallelujah!

Questions for Reflection

  • How have you shown your appreciation for the love God has shown you?
  • Have you forgotten the good news and invitation to receive love from the Holy God of the Universe?
  • What will you do today to show love to someone in your life who needs to experience God’s love? (Remember, we love because He first loved us! See 1 John 4:19)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I praise You for demonstrating Your loyal love to me! I don’t know where I would be without Your faithfulness and amazing love. I ask that You help me to live a life of love to others around me so they can experience Your love through me!

Holy Spirit, increase the fruit of Your love within me as You help me experience my Father’s love each day.

Thank You Jesus for being the expressed image of the Father’s love to the world as You sacrificed Yourself for all who will believe. I love You, Lord, and it’s in Your name I pray, amen.
