God does Great Things!
The Lord did indeed accomplish great things for us. We were happy.
Ps 126:3
Psalm 126 is a model for us to follow as we watch the Psalmist recall the ways God acted in the past and uses that as motivation to seek Him for the restoration of joy for their present situation. The people used the past works of God to inspire their present prayer life, and I believe that is a great inspiration and model for the Church today as we seek the Lord!
Recalling the joy of past deliverance, God’s covenant community asks for a fresh display of God’s power and confidently anticipate their sorrow being transformed into joy.

The Psalmist declares that when God did great things for the people of Israel it made them happy! And isn’t it true of us today that when we know that God is acting on our behalf, answering prayers, and we can see His mighty hand at work in our lives that is results in us experiencing great joy and happiness?

Scripture to Study
Praise God for the Great Things He has Done for Us
In our song of the day, Great Things, we are encouraged to offer up a Hallelujah to God as we declare that the “Hero of Heaven” conquers the grave, frees the captives, and breaks every chain as He does great things for His people! As Mary, the mother of Jesus says, “He has done great things for ME” (emphasis mine).
I really long for all of us to understand and recognize the work of God in our lives, and then to respond to that work from a heart of praise and worship. I honestly don’t know that we can fully grasp the mighty works of God toward us without a response of heart-felt worship.
So, my suggestion is to recall often the mighty works of God in our lives, and in the lives of others around us! Make it a practice to recognize the hand of God and call out the great things He is doing often. We have plenty that works against our faith in this life, so why not build into our faith by recalling the Great Things that God is doing?

- Have you lifted up a heart-felt hallelujah to God for the Great Things He has done and is doing in your life?
- Are you good at recognizing the hand of God at work in your life?
- What needs to happen in order for you to capture and praise the mighty works of God more regularly? Are you willing to do that?
Prayer
Hero of Heaven, I want to praise You for being a God who loves doing great things for Your people! I am so grateful that I am a recipient of Your mighty acts and I ask that You give me spiritual wisdom and revelation to see and respond to Your mighty deeds in my life and the lives of those I love! In Jesus’ name, amen.
