Devotional thought
As I speak with people, I recognize that each of us struggle with this constant tendency to drift in our faith! Have you experienced that in your walk of faith? I know it can seem like we are stuck in this sort of perpetually endless cycle, but we DO NOT HAVE TO BE!
Jesus Christ came from Heaven to Earth to show us how to live our lives in freedom and to the fullest! We never have to feel stuck because when we focus our gaze on Him we will always be moving toward Him and His purposes for us! He frees us!
As the song of the day says, “There was nothing I could do to break these chains…There was nothing I could do to free this soul…” Freedom only comes by faith in Christ. Galatians 5:1 tells us that Christ set us free for freedoms sake! Then it says to never allow ourselves to go back to that place of bondage again.
Hebrews 2:1 tells us to pay close attention to what we hear so we do not drift away. So, pay attention to this verses right here:
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

“and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32 (NET 2nd ed.)
“So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.”
John 8:36 (NET 2nd ed)
So, if Christ lives in us by faith, and He came to set us free, then lets be people who walk in freedom, by faith, forever! We don’t have to be stuck, we can be, and are, freed forever by the love of God in Christ Jesus!
Prayer
Praise You Father for freeing me in Jesus! I appreciate the freedom I am experiencing in Christ, and I ask that You help me to remain in Your freedom at all times. I am sorry Lord when I drift, or become stuck, in my faith. You deserve my passion at all times. Give me the grace I need to overcome these times when I feel stuck and to live my life with a growing and vibrant faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
