Why Not?

I recently had a little girl enter my office with her Daddy to declare that she had received the salvation offered to her through the Lord Jesus Christ!! I am so blessed and after celebrating her decision I was reminded that this truly is the beginning place of worship – receiving Jesus as Savior!

Accepting this sacrifice and receiving salvation is definitely the most important step in our faith, and our worship! If you have not yet done so, please consider the innocence of a child for a moment and ask yourself why? Why am I resisting? What is stopping me from putting all of my hope and trust in a God who provided me with all that I need for life and godliness? Where else can I go for hope, salvation, purpose, love, etc.?

John 1:11-12 says, “He came to what was his own, but his own people did not receive him.But to all who have received him—those who believe in his name—he has given the right to become God’s children —children not born by human parents or by human desire or a husband’s decision, but by God.” The fact is that Jesus has come, has paid the price for our salvation, and is alive right now pleading our case before the Righteous Judge of the Universe! The fact is that we are utterly hopeless without Him! The fact is that there is no amount of good in me to cleanse me of my sinful rebellion towards Him! The fact is that Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin for me and died a death that I was supposed to die so that I might receive His righteousness and perfection accredited to me! The fact is that God the Father has accepted Jesus’ perfect sacrifice as an atonement for our sins, and the only thing keeping us from Him is unbelief.

Join me, and all of us who have claimed Jesus as Lord and Savior (even that young lady who came into my office!), and receive your sonship/daughter-ship into the family of God! The invitation is available to all who will call upon the Lord for salvation and receive the forgiveness that is only available through the sacrifice that He made on the cross! Do so with the same innocence and vulnerability of a child, for it is to these that the Kingdom of God belongs ( as it states in Matt. 19:14-15, “But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”And he placed his hands on them and went on his way.”)

Worship begins with a heart that stands humbly before the God of the universe and trusts Him for everything that we need. The most important thing we need is forgiveness, because we have all fallen short at some point in our lives.

Why not reach out to Him and receive the forgiveness that is readily available and adequate to cleanse us? Why not worship Him right now, and receive Him into your life. If you are saved, worship Him now and receive the blessings He pours out upon His children! Maybe you have wondered from Him, worship Him now and rededicate yourself to His Lordship!
