“Did God Really Say?” – An Attack on the Mind! Worship Devotional

“You Say” by Lauren Daigle

Devotional thought

There is a constant war happening in the spiritual realm over our minds! The enemy of our souls wants to win that battle too. He deploys many attacks and schemes to try to devour our thoughts of anything good and pure, noble and true, or praiseworthy! Especially in regard to God and the way He sees us.

Well, it is for this reason that I appreciate all that the Bible says concerning how God does see us so we can debunk these vicious lies and replace them with the Truth!

When the world is holding things over our heads from the past, God says we are forgiven and redeemed. While the voices in our minds are telling us that we will never measure up, God says He knows – but that is exactly why He did away with the standard of perfection and simply requires faith.

The Bible tells us that we need to take every thought captive and make them obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Why? Because the Lord knows that one of the biggest weapons in the enemy’s arsenal is a rogue thought! It’s one of his oldest tricks to come alongside someone who is tempted and stir up doubt about what they believe about God!

“Did God really say?” is a question he used to deceive Eve, who was in perfect union with God in a garden of pleasure – lacking absolutely nothing! If his tactic worked on her, we should not think that it won’t work on us. No, we must be on guard at all times knowing that we have an enemy that is seeking to steal, kill, and destroy us. We defeat this enemy with Truth!

God says we are loved, that we can do all things through His strength, and that we are held and safe in His protective arms! Even when we don’t feel loved, strong, or like we are alone. The truth of God’s Word tells us that He will never leave us, that His love never fails, and that we are never going to be orphaned by Him!

So, let’s stop doubting, stop allowing rogue thoughts to cause us to doubt the never ending promises of God for us! I believe, will you believe too?

Prayer

Thank You Father for a source of Truth that I can look to that truly defines who I am when I start doubting. I praise You for loving me and calling me into Your Kingdom! I desire to win this battle over my mind, and I look to You Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
