Your Love Awakens Me – Phil Wickham
We sing this line repeatedly in our song of the day, and I have known this lyric to be true in my own life for sure! I was once dead in my sin, walking in darkness as a sleepy-eyed sinner eager to satisfy the desires of my flesh. But the love of God grabbed my heart and transformed me forever!
This truly is one of the hardest things to communicate intellectually, it is best communicated through experience. It’s like waking someone up from a coma and they had no idea they were actually asleep. That is how I was before I encountered Christ, dead and didn’t even know it!
When I encountered the love of God, it awakened me to the reality of my sinful ways, my lifelessness, and my hopelessness without Him. His love compelled my desire for change, and when I invited Him to be my Lord that is exactly what happened – CHANGE!
I was all of a sudden awakened, walking in a new light, and feeling a sense of peace and joy I had never experienced before because I actually felt hope(ful)! That is what the deep, deep love of God will do for anyone who comes to Him for life and light in their own life! I invite you now to ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior, for His love to transform your life forever! I promise you that you will never regret that decision!
When once I was in sin and walking as a dead man in this world, I encountered a 5 lettered word that brought me to life in a way that I never experienced before – G.R.A.C.E.! It was this gracious act of God that lavished His love upon a sinner, while he was dead in those sins, that made me alive together with Him forever! Hallelujah!
Prayer
God of light and life, I praise You always for saving me by Your grace and lavishing Your love and mercy upon me! I love You Lord. Please help me remember that love throughout my days so I can best live in the light as You are in the light. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
