Devotional thought

Have you ever been lost, like physically not having any clue where you were? That is a terrifying feeling. I can remember being young and lost in the woods with absolutely no idea which direction would lead me back to safety. It was terrifying, almost suffocating. It left me feeling dismayed, to say the least!

“God Rest ye merry gentlemen let nothing you dismay.” This is the opening line to the old Christmas Carol, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Well, there are plenty of things in our current world that can leave us feeling distressed and hopeless! So, is it even a possibility not to be dismayed?

The answer to that question is found in the following phrase of that song, “Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day!” The truth of the matter is, yes it is possible to live in this world and not be dismayed and distressed all the time! Jesus Christ, the Savior, came to remove our fears, heal our pain, and help us find our way again!

The reason He arrived on this earth was to save us from our sins, fulfill the Father’s plan of redemption for all of mankind, and to destroy the power of the enemy over our lives! Jesus Christ came to deliver a world that was lost and without hope, that needed saving intervention and didn’t even know it!

He came to “Save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray”! The bible tells us that we all like sheep have gone astray, and Jesus is the Good Shepherd that came to restore us to the Father again. God, the Son, truly is the hope for all mankind and has been born to give us all life! I pray that you are experiencing that hope and life, and that your life is not lived in a constant state of distress.

May your Christmas be full of life and peace, joy and hope, and the reminders of the Son of God being born and coming to this world to deliver you and me from Satan’s power forever! Hallelujah, indeed!

Prayer

Dear Father in Heaven, I praise You for sending the Solution to my dismay! I love You Lord for giving me a Savior and destroying the power of the enemy of my soul. You truly are my God, and I dedicate myself to You forever. I sing the rejoicing song with the Angels in Heaven, “Hallelujah, Jesus Christ is born”! In Jesus’ name. Amen
