Christ is Mine, Forevermore – Does Your Life Prove It?

Song of the Day

“Christ is Mine Forevermore” by CityAlight

Devotional thought

"Now this is eternal life—that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent." John 17:3 (NET 2nd ed.)

To have Christ is to know Christ! This is the critical key to understanding our ability to claim Christ as “ours”. There are many people, myself included at one point, that are walking around claiming Christ and all His benefits as theirs but not having a relationship with Him! It takes a decision that truly makes Christ Lord in one’s life and submission to follow Him always.

Jesus said in the verse above that it is to “know” Him that is eternal life. To know Him, or that He is yours, is where our faith blends with our understanding and experience of how He is actively working in our lives. It is also where our faith becomes activated and causes us to live according to His ways and trust Him through life greatest struggles!

The knowledge that Christ is living in you is the greatest treasure and reward in life! It truly does produce rejoicing and life to spring up in areas that were once dead and in the grips of fear and shame.

Making the personal connection

In our song of the day the verses begin with the phrase, “Mine are tears…Mine are days…Mine are keys…”. And in the expressions that follow we are faced with the realities that we experience each day, and how knowing Christ is ours gives us the confidence to face those trials by the faith that He will be faithful to provide what we need to endure!

We sing about temptations to seek after earthly treasures and forsake the King of kings. Times of sorrow and situations that we do not yet understand. And, harm and hatred from those around us for simply being a stranger in this world because of our faith!

But, because Christ is ours forevermore and we know Him as our Savior and Lord, when we forsake Him and fall into temptations we will remember that He has paid the price already for those failings.

We are reminded that because Christ is ours whenever we face trials that are not yet understood, we have a peace that flows from Heaven and a strength to endure that can only be Supernatural!

When faced with hatred and contempt for our faith, we understand that we have hope in our Redeemer that has armored us for this battle and will deliver us unto His golden shores. We have this subtle, yet confident, hope that the keys of the Kingdom are given to us through the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself to give us life eternal in His Name!

Prayer

Thank You Lord for reminding me of what is mine in Christ! My treasure is truly found in You and the salvation I have in Christ. I praise You and rejoice in the hope and peace I have found in You.
