Lunch Devo: Act 17:27-28(a)

“Though He is not far from each of us.” This is the truth of the matter, God is near to everyone and yet so few seek Him out for their help in this world. How is it that the Almighty, Powerful, God of the universe that has provided the solution for any and all people to access Him by faith and taken away the stumbling blocks that hindered us from communing with Him, and the very solution that He gave (Jesus Christ) actually becomes the stumbling block for people? The solution is available, but not many people even see that there is a problem to be solved. Sad.

It is good to seek out God in our lives, and I believe the more we understand that it is in Him that we live, move, and have our being this will give us the motivation to continue seeking God in our lives! We will find Him when we seek for Him with all of our heart (see Jer 29:13)! That is the treasure we all should be seeking.

  • What are you “groping” for, or seeking on a daily basis? Where is the treasure of your heart?
  • Do you look to have your life and movements characterized by godliness?
  • Have you praised God today for not being far off but near to you? Will you now?

God bless the rest of your day!
