What Is Your Faith Showing You? Worship Devotional

Devotional thought

Hebrews 11:1 says that “faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.”. Being sure of what we hope for, but what if we aren’t hoping for anything? What if we aren’t expecting God to do anything. We believe in Him, but aren’t really expecting Him to do anything.

That to me sounds like a great definition of what an agnostic is! Believing in a supreme being, yet not believing that this being is intricately involved in the affairs of this world – let alone our lives! I do not believe this to be true, and I hope that you don’t either.

The Bible tells us that God is a God who is currently active in our lives. He was, He is, and is yet to come, and there is so much hope that we can have that He is actively engaged in the affairs of our world today. With this in mind then, shouldn’t we be offering up our prayers in the faith that we will see God moving in response to those prayers?

Absolutely, I strongly adhere to this belief! I expect God to hear and respond to my prayers, according to His will of course! My faith, and knowledge of God as He revealed Himself in the Scriptures, instructs my prayer life. So, I am eager to see God at work, the King of Glory coming on the clouds, His people singing as His love and mercy wash away all their sins.

I do expect to see a revival in our day, people rising up in faith on bended knees seeking the Lord to save this generation! That is my hope, my faith, and my expectation as I seek the Lord in prayer. I long for Him to do these things in our day. How about you? How is your faith instructing your prayer life? What are you believing God for these days?

Prayer

Dear Father, I pray that my prayers would be strongly rooted in my faith that You do hear and respond to me. I want to see You reviving this generation to be a people who seek You and trust You! My heart longs for You to break through and change the course of our society to be one of godliness! Please, God, revive us as we seek You! In Jesus’ name, amen.
