“We Still Seek” by Eagleville Bible Church
Devotional thought
God’s Word says that if we seek Him, if we pray to Him, we will find Him! Are you in a state of seeking God, or have you become complacent?
All throughout the Bible we see examples of the Lord’s people seeking Him, like a deer searches for water in a dry land! David, Daniel, Joseph, Paul, etc, all of these characters from the Scriptures were desperate to see God at work in their day, so they sought after Him and found Him faithful to intervene and redeem!
What we see when those that are hungry for the presence and power of God receive the longing of their hearts is a response of reverence and worship? They bow before Him, they adore him, and they cry out “Worthy, King of kings, to receive all glory and honor and power and praise!”. Does that describe you today?
Seriously, have you longed after the Lord Jesus Christ today? Are you desperate for Him to show up in a specific way in your life, or the lives of those you love? Seek Him, and you will find Him, when you seek for Him with all of your heart!
Prayer
God of Heaven, I praise You for being the God who shows up when we seek You! I thank You for being a God that is near and desires that we seek after You. I commit to seeking, praying, and desiring after You my King. Help me to stay in a posture of dependance upon You at all times Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
