Devotional thought

I understand how daunting it can be to face a situation that doesn’t appear to have a clear way through it! I remember the times of financial pressures, addictions, grief from a loss, exhaustion, etc. I remember the feeling of hopelessness that I had to wrestle through in making decisions about what to pay and what not to pay, what job to take, how to restore a broken marriage, and the list goes on and on!

When I finally gave my life fully to the Lord in 2007, I noticed a distinct transformation in the way I approached all of those decisions though. My faith in God started to become the biggest piece of “legislation” to consider as I made choices. It was no longer fear, irrationality, selfishness, or anger that was driving my decision-making processes, it was my faith in the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way!

I can’t express to you the feeling of peace that you can have when you do your research and make a prayerful decision based on faith and Godly counsel! It is so rewarding and freeing to be able to trust that God is for you and not against you, that His desire is to bless you as you faithfully call upon Him in your need. He wants to show Himself as the Light from Heaven who illuminates the straight paths that He establishes for us!

If you are currently facing a challenging time in your life, I want to remind you that God is able and willing to do far more than we can ever imagine or think! Trust Him in this situation! Do not rely on your own understanding, but rely upon His limitless wisdom! Trust Him and remind yourself of how faithful God has been in your life already! You’ve seen Him move, trust that He will do it again! Believe that He is with you and for you, because He IS!

Questions for Reflection

  • Are you struggling with trusting God to make a way for you to get through a difficult situation right now?
  • Have you seen God move in your life, and if so what is stopping you from having confidence that God will not fail you now, or ever?
  • Will you choose to trust God now and to leave your situation in His faithful hands?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You Lord for being so faithful to me. I thank You God that You have never, and will never, fail me. Please forgive my lack of faith in Your abilities to do far more than I can imagine. I repent of this and desire to live a life of faith in You God. Please help me to do this for Your name’s sake. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
