The Truth that Never Gets Old! Worship Devotional

Song of the Day

“God Really Loves Us” by David Crowder (feat. Dante Bowe)

Devotional thought

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:16 (NASB95)

When you read that, did your mind blank out and just kind of skip over it? If so, why?

I am right there with you my friend. I understand the temptation to overlook the familiar, but please join me in rejecting this temptation and embracing the truth that never gets old! Do you remember the first time you truly understood these words, “God loves you”? I know what you’re thinking, “Mark, I still don’t understand those words!”. – Haha!

Seriously, the reality of a holy God loving an unholy individual like me is mind blowing. Not just loving in word, but He went out of His way to demonstrate His love to us in the sacrificial gift of Himself on the cross! It is a good thing to spend time just reflecting upon the truth of that exchange, and then to respond by worshiping Him from the heart!

God really loves us is a sentiment that should be the source of our joy, hope, and the experience of our life of faith. Having a God that loves us reassures us that we are not alone, we have a friend that is with us in the valley, fire, storms, and everything else we may experience! His love compelled Him to go above and beyond to provide redemption for us all, and that truth is simply amazing and inspires my worship forever! How about you?

Prayer

God of love and grace, I praise You for showing me that I am loved! Your loving-kindness is amazing and unending toward me, and I pray that You help me to respond to that with the same passionate love toward You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. So thankful for Gods love! The God which has brought me through all, the good and the bad times. Even though my eyes were not always set on him, he is always watching over me.
