What Produces Joy in the House of the Lord? Worship Devotional

Song of the Day

“House of the Lord” by Phil Wickham

Devotional thought

I believe that when we realize Who it is that we are worshiping, and what He has done for us, joy will be the inevitable result! Remembering how destitute and undeserving we were of the grace and love of God, and knowing that God has lavished His love on us anyways should stir a shout of praise in all of our hearts.

This is why I appreciate this song today by Phil Wickham, because it reminds me of the absolute resolve I have to have to praise the Lord for all He has done for me, and the Church! We sing to the God who saved us, heals us, knows us, and loves us with an everlasting love!

When we understand that we were beggars turned to royalty, prisoners set free, sinners forgiven and redeemed by His grace I can’t see how any of us would not respond with praise! My God did that for me and you, and I believe this truth is the sole reason for an overflow of joy in the House of the Lord.

Let’s never forget where we were when God revealed Himself to us through His love and grace. We need to rehearse the Gospel each day to ourselves so that our lives can be lived with joy and appreciation for the redemption we found in Christ Jesus. Praise His Holy Name forever!

Prayer

Father in Heaven, I do shout out Your praise today. I thank You for loving and saving me. For turning me from a life of sin and shame to a godly and redeemed life for Your glory. Your kindness toward me is overwhelming and I seek to honor You through my praise and life of worship! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
