Scripture to reflect upon

Devotional thought

I love the lyrics in the first verse of this song, it says, “Though there’s pain within the plan, there is victory in the end. Your love is my battle cry!”. The love of God is what gives us the confidence to come to Him with all of our problems, trusting that He desires to help us in our times of need. Yes, there is going to be pain and hurts in this life. Yes, there are going to be “giants” that we face. But our hope and confidence is in the fact that nothing is too hard for our God.

We can see our giants fall in life as we draw near to God, trust in Him, and surrender ourselves to His ability to deliver us! There is another line in this song that says, “Over fears, over lies, we’re singing the truth – that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH YOU!” The truth is the tool that we use to destroy the “giants” that are coming against us! It is the truth that will overcome the lies that are against us. It is the truth that will provide freedom from the tyranny of the father of lies – the giant that is seeking to gain any sort of stronghold in our lives that he possibly can! We defeat him (the devil) by standing upon the truth of God’s Word, and remaining full of faith in the Name above all names to deliver us Jesus Christ!

Are you facing what looks to be an impossible hurtle? If so, please look at this text:

Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Eph 3:20-21

Call upon the name of the Lord and ask Him to do what seems like an impossibility to you! There is no greater name, no higher name, no stronger name than Jesus – so call on Him now for that giant in your life to be destroyed!

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, my giant Slayer! I am so grateful and comforted by the truth of Your Word that reminds me that You are fighting for me, and that You are able to accomplish even the most seemingly impossible tasks. You are the Deliverer, and I choose to trust You in all of my battles. Please forgive me when I allow the giants in my life to rule my decision making processes, when I become trapped in fear and allow myself to worry. I love You Lord, and I look forward to calling upon You whenever I encounter the giants that seek to destroy me. Please give me strength to do this Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
